NSE’s Certification in Financial Markets (NCFM)

SEBI has made certification from National Stock Exchange (NSE) mandatory for those working in stock markets.

The key element of financial sector reforms is the development of a pool of human resources having right skills and expertise in each segment of the industry. Taking into account international experience and the needs of the Indian financial markets, with a view to protect interests of investors in financial markets and more importantly, to minimise risks of losses arising out of deficient understanding of markets and instruments, National Stock Exchange introduced in 1998 a facility for testing and certification by launching NSE’s Certification in Financial Markets (NCFM).

The stock market has always been a short-cut to earn high profits. However, with frequent pitfalls, there is a dire necessity for skilled and expert manpower to guide the end-user. Also, besides acquiring requisite skills and knowledge, SEBI has made it mandatory for all personnel working for the financial market industry to be NCFM-certified in relevant modules prior to joining the organisation.
